Woman slightly injured and car damaged by tree falling across Stortford Hall Park




A woman was slightly injured and a car was damaged when a tree fell across a road in Bishop’s Stortford in Sunday’s high winds from Storm Bert.

The incident happened in Stortford Hall Park, which was blocked. Residents helped to clear the debris.

A spokesman for Hertfordshire Constabulary said on Monday: “Police were called at 12.41pm yesterday (Sunday 24 November) following reports that a Vauxhall had been hit by a falling tree, causing damage to the vehicle.

“A woman, who was walking on the pavement, sustained a scratch to her face due to one of the branches.

“The road was blocked as a result, and Herts Highways were called to deal with the incident.”
