A woman had to be freed from her vehicle when it ended up on its side following an accident on the northern outskirts of Bishop's Stortford.

Members of all three emergency services responded shortly before 1pm on Sunday (June 16) to reports of a collision on the roundabout junction of Stansted Road and the A120 bypass.

Two vehicles were involved: a grey Porsche Cayenne and a silver Dacia Sandero, which ended up on its driver's side.

A woman trapped in the Dacia was freed by the on-call fire and rescue crew at Bishop's Stortford fire station.

The East of England Ambulance Service sent an ambulance and a rapid response vehicle.

The woman was taken to hospital by ambulance. A spokeswoman for Hertfordshire Constabulary said: "She is believed to have suffered minor injuries and is in a stable condition."

Hertfordshire County Council's highways department was informed as a result of damage to roadside furniture.
