The president of the Universal Society of Hinduism has praised Stansted Airport for hosting pre-flight yoga sessions.

Rajan Zed, based in Nevada in the United States, urged other UK airports to follow the Uttlesford hub’s example and create permanent yoga spaces available free to all passengers, employees, visitors and vendors.

London-based fitness chain FRAME offered the classes over three days earlier this month, advertising the sessions: “A gentle flow that focuses on releasing the shoulders and back while also opening the hips to prepare the body for the flight.

"You will also focus on breath and mindfulness techniques that will arm you with the tools to combat any pre-flight anxiety and keep you calm until you reach your destination.”
