Bishop's Stortford & Epping Taekwon-do members enjoy excellent grading in Harlow

Eason Yung and Mark Douglas claimed the best grading awards when Bishop's Stortford & Epping Taekwon-do held their last grading of the year.

Junior member Yung and adult competitor Douglas were rewarded for their performance on the day as well as their hard work over the last 12 months.

Grandmaster Ron Sergiew, ninth dan, attended the grading venue in Harlow to put 36 students from white to blue belt through the various aspects of their grading syllabus.

And he went home a happy man and was full of praise for the students as everyone passed, with 68% receiving A or plus passes with no low passes.

"It's been a very challenging year, with a combination of Zoom classes during full lockdown followed by outdoor classes before returning to normal training inside from the end of July," said instructor Colin Mowatt, fifth dan.

"We have come through it with most of our members still training and enrolling 37 new students in 2021."

The club's students, aged between five and 65, train at the Parsonage Community Hall in Stortford on Mondays, Wednesdays and Saturdays as well as in Epping on Thursdays.
