Boardmans Davies Cup: Man-of-the-match Tom Baucher's half-century helps Farnham beat Stansted Hall & Elsenham

Tom Baucher's half-century earned him the man-of-the-match plaudits as he helped Farnham beat Stansted Hall & Elsenham in the Boardmans Davies Cup final.

He struck 57 off 41 balls as his side triumphed by 71 runs at Bishop's Stortford's Cricketfield Lane ground on Sunday (August 1).

Batting first, Farnham posted 174-6 from their 20 overs, with Hector Bevitt-Smith (41) and Olly Radley (30 not out) adding to Baucher's knock. Louis Hanham was the most successful bowler with 2-23.

Stansted Hall & Elsenham slipped to 21-5 in reply and were unable to recover, despite the efforts of Teddy Hepworth (30), Jacob Talbot (25) and Raja Zamir (20 not out), as they closed on 103-9.

Tommy Cattell caused plenty of damage with 4-13 while Matt Island (3-19) and Olly Stigwood (2-24) also had success with the ball.

The competition raised £450 for Grove Cottage, the home of Mencap in Bishop's Stortford.
