Four friends crossed the line together as they celebrated completing their 100th parkruns last Saturday (Nov 20).

Kevin Gillespie, Colette Kerins, Fay Dodgen and Jenny Brayshaw, who have all been members of Bishop's Stortford Running Club for between four and six years, brought up their milestones in unison at the Castle Park event in 32min 10sec.

And they marked the occasion by enjoying a special cake made by retired teacher Brayshaw, who ran with her dog Molly, at the end of the 5km race.

Seventy-year-old Brayshaw's best parkrun time is 26 minutes flat. She only took up running at the age of 59 to ward off osteoporosis and ran a marathon the following year.

Accountant Gillespie, 53, lives in Stortford and took up running four years ago. His best parkrun time is 22.07 and he has completed the Brighton Marathon in 4hr 22min, with the Manchester Marathon planned for next year.

Kerins, 50, is a teacher at Herts and Essex High School. The Sawbridgeworth resident's parkrun personal best is 25.24. And Stortford-based gardener Dodgen, 53, has a parkrun PB of 26.09.
