Bishop's Stortford can dare to dream of a trip to Wembley if they beat fellow in-form side Cheshunt in the third round of the Buildbase FA Trophy on Saturday, according to Steve Smith.

The Blues, who won the competition in 1981, travel to Theobalds Lane on a 15-game unbeaten run while their hosts are enjoying a 14-game unbeaten streak.

The Ambers are only above Stortford in the Pitching In Isthmian League, Premier Division – they sit fourth and fifth respectively – on goal difference.

And whoever triumphs in the Hertfordshire derby will be just four more wins away from a trip to the national stadium on Sunday May 22.

"It should be a good game and another tough game," said Blues manager Smith, who will be without cup-tied James Thomas but has made Darren Foxley's loan move from Billericay Town permanent.

"They'll think they can win and we're going there full of confidence as well. If we prepare right and play the way I know we can play then we've got a great chance of progressing to the next round.

"We know it's not going to be easy, but if we win then we're four games from Wembley and maybe we can start dreaming."

The Blues made it back-to-back clean sheets at the weekend when they won 1-0 at Cray Wanderers following a 0-0 draw away to Folkestone Invicta last Tuesday (Dec 7).

"At Folkestone I thought we were the better side and deserved to win," said Smith. "We played really well.

"On Saturday, we started well and could have been 2-0 up. We huffed and puffed after that but got our noses in front and then it was backs-to-the-wall stuff so it was good to get the win."
