Bishop's Stortford have signed Terrell Egbri as they prepare for the start of their pre-season friendly schedule.

The 21-year-old forward has arrived at the Blues, who visit Takeley on Saturday July 16 before hosting Dagenham & Redbridge on Tuesday July 19, after being released by Vanarama National League side Southend United.

Egbri, who can operate out wide or in the No 10 position, joined the Shrimpers when he was in the under-14s and went on to make his debut for the youth team in April 2017.

The attacker, who is known for his pace and dribbling ability, had some impressive performances for the under-23s and during a loan spell at Harlow Town which earned him a first-team debut in the EFL Trophy against Brighton & Hove Albion under-21s in October 2019.

After becoming a regular in the matchday squad towards the end of the 2019-20 campaign, he was rewarded with a professional contract in the summer of 2020.

Last season saw Egbri enjoy a loan spell at Farnborough and he helped them achieve promotion from the Southern League Premier South, before being released by Southend after eight years at Roots Hall.

Egbri is manager Steve Smith's fourth summer signing following the recruitment of Tosin Olufemi, Matt Johnson and Jay Porter. The majority of the 2021-22 squad have re-signed, but Johnville Renee and Archie Jones have moved on while Ben Marlow could be sidelined until Christmas with a knee problem.

The Blues kick off their pre-season friendlies on July 16 with a trip to Essex Senior League, Premier Division side Takeley before entertaining Dagenham & Redbridge at the R&D Advisors UK Stadium on July 19. The Daggers finished eighth in the Vanarama National League last term, missing out on a play-off spot by a single point.
