Bishop's Stortford have bolstered their defensive options by signing Jay Porter from Braintree Town.
The 28-year-old left-back arrives at the R&D Advisors UK Stadium having helped the Iron finish 17th in the Vanarama National League South last term.
Porter joins the Blues after they had the best defensive record in the Pitching In Isthmian League, Premier Division in 2021-22, conceding only 33 goals on their way to finishing as runners-up and losing in the play-off semi-finals.
The new recruit has plenty of Isthmian League experience having turned out for the likes of Margate, Enfield Town, Hornchurch, Dartford and Thamesmead Town.
He is manager Steve Smith's third new signing of the summer following the acquisition of Tosin Olufemi and Matt Johnson.
Porter comes in after Stortford announced Johnville Renee would not be returning to the club next season. He made 108 appearances for the Blues, scoring six goals, across three spells.
Taking to Twitter, Renee said: "Some of the best times I've had in football. Great club, great people. All the best."
Meanwhile, promising midfielder and former academy captain Charlie Allum has signed up to be involved with the first team again for the 2022-23 campaign.
The Blues are now gearing up for the start of their pre-season preparations, with their first of seven scheduled friendlies being away to Takeley on July 16. The Isthmian League season is due to commence on August 13.
