Bishop's Stortford will get two weeks' notice before restart of Isthmian League, Premier Division campaign

Bishop's Stortford will be given at least 14 days' notice of the resumption of the Pitching In Isthmian League, Premier Division season.

The league's board met last Wednesday (December 30) after all of its member clubs were placed under tier 4 restrictions before Monday night's (January 4) announcement of the England-wide lockdown.

The Blues' last game was a 2-1 away defeat to Haringey Borough in the Buildbase FA Trophy on December 8. Their last league fixture was a 2-0 home win against Cheshunt on October 17.

In a statement, the Isthmian League board said: "We will continue to monitor the situation in line with the Government's review dates and/or any decision that allows Government grants to become available to member clubs.

"The board has still not set a formal restart date, but clubs will be given at least 14 days' notice of the recommencement of the 2020-21 season, allowing them preparation time to stage league matches."

Stansted, Takeley, Sawbridgeworth Town and Stortford's tenants Enfield must also continue to wait for a return to action in the Essex Senior League.

"We shall be holding meetings with the FA and our FA Council representative to determine a formulated step 5 and 6 plan to present to the FA League Committee for the remainder of this season," said league secretary Michelle Dorling.
