King's Lynn Town and Chelmsford City among opponents for Bishop's Stortford in 2021-22 pre-season friendlies




Bishop's Stortford will return to the field for the first time in seven months when they start their pre-season campaign on Tuesday July 6 at home to Harold Hill.

The Blues will entertain the County Motor Works Vauxhall Mid-Essex League, Premier Division side at the R&D Advisors UK Stadium in what will be their first match since they lost to Haringey Borough in the FA Trophy on December 8, 2020.

Manager and owner Steve Smith said he was looking forward to seeing his team back in action following termination of the 2020-21 Pitching In Isthmian League, Premier Division season due to the pandemic.

The match against Harold Hill is one of seven friendlies announced so far by Stortford.

Their second assignment will be another home fixture against Maldon & Tiptree, of the Isthmian North Division, on Friday July 16.

King's Lynn Town, who are near the foot of the Vanarama National League, will be the visitors on Tuesday July 20.

The Blues' first away game of pre-season will be at Isthmian North Division side Aveley on Saturday July 24 before they host Vanarama National League South opposition in the form of Chelmsford City on Saturday July 31.

Tuesday August 3 will see Smith's team welcome Peterborough Sports, from the Southern League, Premier Central.

And they will complete their friendly schedule with a trip to Isthmian North side Coggeshall Town on Saturday August 7 before starting their league season seven days later.
