Emma Gallop scores winner as Bishop’s Stortford Community Football Club under-12 Sky Blues girls beat Dunmow Rovers 1-0

Emma Gallop scored the winner as Bishop’s Stortford Community Football Club under-12 Sky Blues girls beat Dunmow Rovers 1-0.

Sky Blues had the majority of the ball as they came up against a good defensive team in the Cambridge Girls’ League.

And they made the breakthrough late on thanks to Gallop’s composed finish.

Arianna was strong and composed in the centre of defence and there were player-of-the-match performances from Heidi and Ava who did not give the opposition a second to rest.

Under-12 Cyans girls played out a thrilling 2-2 draw with Harpenden Vikings in Hertfordshire Girls’ Football Partnership League, Division Five.

Cyans used the full width of the pitch to take an early lead with a fantastic goal, but they were pegged back by a stunning lob.

They went back in front after the break and defended resolutely against wave after wave of Vikings attacks before conceding a last-minute equaliser.

Under-eight Cyans girls performed well as they suffered their first Cambridge Girls’ League defeat of the campaign to Isleham.

They had a slender lead at the break as Olivia Lynch Pashazadeh struck her first goal of the season and Maggie Sutter and Chloe McClure also netted.

Nora Zekeri scored with a thunderous strike and McClure completed her brace, but, despite a number of vital saves from Olivia Sims, their opponents fought back to win.
