James Mutlu brace helps Bishop’s Stortford Community Football Club under-17 Blues beat Ware 4-0
James Mutlu claimed a second-half brace to complete a 4-0 win for Bishop’s Stortford Community Football Club under-17 Blues against Ware.
He produced two excellent finishes after the break as the dominant hosts took maximum points in their penultimate game of the season.
Blues opened the scoring in the Mid-Herts Rural Minors League, Division One match after only 10 minutes when Callum Castle cut inside and found the top corner with an unstoppable shot.
Aaron Stevens doubled the lead by converting Sam Shemwell’s inch-perfect cross from close range before Mutlu put the icing on the cake with his two efforts.
The under-16 girls ended a challenging season by battling hard in a 2-0 defeat at Evergreen.
The likes of Remi Hasty and Sylvia Dolphin Tsang worked tirelessly, goalkeeper Freya Hooper made some fine saves and Amelia Coulson went close to equalising when they only trailed by one goal.
