Bishop's Stortford Community Football Club under-16 Saints produced a dramatic comeback to win 3-1 at Hoddesdon Town Black.

They scored three times in the closing stages of the Mid-Herts Rural Minors League, Division Two match to stun their hosts.

Saints were without several players, including their goalkeeper, so defender and captain Corey Williams selflessly donned the gloves.

The visitors had the better of a goalless first period and Robbie Hamilton was denied by a stunning save before also seeing a goal disallowed for offside.

The second half was fairly even until man-of-the-match Williams was beaten as Hoddesdon broke the deadlock.

But, in a remarkable final 10 minutes, Hamilton equalised for Saints with a near-post finish, Alfie Smith opened his account for the team to put them ahead and Harrison Walker wrapped up a famous win by rounding the goalkeeper before slotting in from a narrow angle.

Under-14 United scored five goals for the second week running as they beat Royston Town Crows 5-3 in the Premier Division.

Jude Xavier netted from close range after only two minutes following good work by Charlie Sacco before Max Hibbert doubled the advantage.

Royston reduced the arrears before half time, but Hibbert restored the two-goal lead and Henry Hawkins scored with a brilliant free kick.

The Crows were able to pull back a couple more goals, but United sealed the win when Freddie Higgs was upended in the box and Hibbert completed his hat-trick from the penalty spot.

The under-14 girls overturned a deficit to register a convincing 4-1 victory at Bury Rangers in the Hertfordshire County Cup.

Hannah Cole brought them level with a long-range effort before Ella Schneider fired them ahead from Amber Owen's pass.

Cole got her second of the game with an excellent volley from the edge of the area after the break and Schneider, who was found by Macey Brown, rounded things off by tucking away a rebound after her initial effort had hit the post.

Under-12 United earned a useful point in a 1-1 draw away to Cheshunt Youth Black in the MHRML Premier Division.

The game pitted a number of Bishop's Stortford High School students against each other and a draw was a fair result, with Jamie Fordham equalising for United with a spot kick.

Under-15 Rangers saw two points slip from their grasp when they drew 2-2 with Wymondley Park in Royston Crow League, Division Two.

Goals from Kade Smith and Callum Baker put them in charge, but their opponents pulled one back with 10 minutes remaining before equalising from the penalty spot.

The Covid-hit under-13 girls, who had four players unavailable, were unlucky to lose 2-1 at home to Evergreen in Hertfordshire Girls Football Partnership League, Division Two.

Trailing at the break, they equalised with 20 minutes to go when captain Bonnie Kirby was teed up by Tilly-Mae Maguire-White.

Excellent defending by player-of-the-match Aimee Cole looked like securing Stortford a draw, but Evergreen claimed a winner three minutes from time.
