Diogo Camara and Darragh Flood star as Real Stortford under-15 Bulls beat Wodson Park 9-2
Diogo Camara scored four goals and man of the match Darragh Flood got the same number of assists as Real Stortford under-15 Bulls began the new campaign with a 9-2 league victory over Wodson Park.
Camara got the first of his goals in the opening minute as the team, pictured, more than made up for an indifferent pre-season.
Tom Brierly added a header shortly afterwards and notched a second later on while Jake Lacey also bagged a brace, with his second-half strike being a superb one.
Bulls conceded twice when 4-0 up, but five unanswered goals in the second period, including an unstoppable penalty from Charlie Baker, ended any Wodson Park hopes of a comeback.
There were plenty of man-of-the-match contenders as the strikers were all on target and Harry Pettipher and Cameron Scott were a constant threat down the flanks, but midfielder Flood got the nod as he barely put a foot wrong and had a near-perfect pass completion rate.
Ewan Winship got the only goal of the game as under-17 Saracens earned the derby bragging rights against BSCFC Wanderers.
Saracens dominated the opening exchanges and could have been clear at the break with better finishing, but their hard work got them a deserved three points.
Under-16 Falcons ended their pre-season with 4-4 draw against Elsenham. Lucas Gribble and Stan Hoyle both got doubles, but conceding a couple of sloppy late goals denied them a deserved win.
Meanwhile, Real Stortford Men ended a strong pre-season with a 2-0 success over Stortford Saints.
Henry Becerra opened the scoring before Jojo Senior's stunning free kick settled matters in the first half.
They made nine changes at the break to give playing time to the whole squad.
