Dominic Dann struck his fourth century in eight Tees Herts & Essex Border League games to guide Takeley to an eight-wicket home win over Farnham on Saturday.

He carried his bat for 107 as his team, resplendent in their new kit, sponsored by GR8 Equipment and Tool Hire, successfully reached 225-2 in just 29.3 overs to move up to second in the Premier Division.

Dann, who has been in fantastic form all season, had good support from fellow opener Liam Brown, who was run out for 62 when looking for a quick single.

Earlier in the day, Farnham posted 223-8 after being put into bat by Takeley captain Tom Brown in bowler-friendly conditions.

Visiting skipper Nick Prowse batted well in the middle overs for 62 and was well supported by Marcus Cattell (31).

Olly and Coby Miles, who bowled very well with the new ball, finished with 3-52 and 2-68 respectively.

Meanwhile, Takeley II maintained their perfect record with a win at Albury in Division Three. Amrit Harrad was the star as he made a crucial half-century in a very tight run chase.
