Keira Chadburn claimed a hat-trick as table-topping Bishop’s Stortford Women ran in 12 tries to triumph 78-5 at Witham.

Fly-half Rebekah Coppen converted nine of the five-pointers as the Women’s NC 3 Midlands (East) leaders maintained their 100% record.

Stortford, who have won six out of six, are three points clear of second-placed Datchworth Ferns and five better off than third-placed Braintree, who have a game in hand.

The visitors demonstrated their collective strength in what was an exceptional team performance in difficult weather conditions.

Replacement back row Charlotte Wheeler and Sarah Harvey added braces to No 8 Chadburn’s treble while Coppen, full-back Harriet Creasy, winger Becks O’Mahoney, scrum-half Donna McDonald and prop Lunette Opperman also dotted down.

Opperman was also named forward of the match while Coppen, who showcased her metronomic kicking, took the back-of-the-match award.
