Bishop’s Stortford Community Football Club round-up: U12 United win Mid Herts Rural Minors League Division 6 title by beating Knebworth U12 Tigers 5-1
Bishop’s Stortford Community Football Club (BSCFC) U12 United won the Mid Herts Rural Minors League (MHRML), Division 6 title.
In a must-win match, they beat Knebworth U12 Tigers 5-1 with a brace from Harrison Cox and goals from Cody Sapsford, Joe Swyers and Bertie Taylor.
Harry Anderson scored a hat trick as BSCFC U14 United thrashed their Forest Hall Park opponents 10-2 in the Royston Crow League, Division 2.
There were also two goals each for Charlie Lee and Josh Baldock, and one apiece for Teddy Martin, Harry White and Aidan Hill.
BSCFC Blues U17 finished their season with an unlucky 4-2 defeat against a well-organised Wodson Park U18 in MHRML, Division 1.
The Blues started well and, despite falling behind after 15 minutes, were rewarded when Oli Taylor and Milo Grieves scored within minutes of each other, both with well-taken shots from distance.
Wodson equalised just before half time and went 3-2 up in the second half. This sparked a great fightback attempt by the Blues, with Charlie Callf particularly dangerous, but the equaliser wouldn’t come and Wodson sealed victory with the last kick of the game.
