Bishop’s Stortford Cricket Club and Bishop’s Stortford College coach Dave Hughes part of England coaching team for Over-40s Cricket World Cup in South Africa





Dave Hughes cannot wait to be part of an international tournament after landing a place on England’s coaching team for the upcoming Over-40s Cricket World Cup.

The head of cricket at Bishop’s Stortford College has been named as assistant coach for the event, which takes place in South Africa from February 17 to March 1.

Hughes, who is also men’s first-team coach at Bishop’s Stortford Cricket Club, will be aiming to help England excel at the inaugural event. The team will take on Australia, Canada, Namibia, the USA and Zimbabwe in Group A.

“I’m really excited to be joining the England squad and assisting with the coaching,” said Hughes, who has also captained Stortford, played Minor Counties cricket for Hertfordshire and represented the second teams at both Surrey and Hampshire.

“It’s an incredible opportunity to coach at an international level in a World Cup environment and I’m very much looking forward to it.”
