Bishop’s Stortford Bowling Club aiming to complete project to open a brand-new, seven-rink artificial outdoor surface this summer
Funding for sports clubs has never been more vital – a fact not lost on ambitious Bishop’s Stortford Bowling Club.
The thriving club, which has well over 200 members, began life in 1903 and is now based at Bowling Lane, off Beldams Lane.
Community-orientated BSBC’s latest project is to open a brand-new, seven-rink artificial outdoor surface this summer.
Work is scheduled to take place in June to replace the ageing 16-year-old surface. The £75,000 project was significantly boosted by a £38,400 grant from Bishop’s Stortford Town Council and the fund currently stands at £45,000.
A fundraising sub-committee has been formed which has been broadened to feature a host of sponsorship opportunities with the club that hosts the Herts county outdoor finals each summer.
Whether the business budget is hundreds or thousands of pounds, BSBC can accommodate these crucial funds.
Opportunities include main club sponsor, banner advertising, providing training bowls, internal bowling competition sponsorship, scorecards/cardholders, equipment sponsorship, bowling charity days, junior development programme, health/wellness partnership and business pop-up nights.
Club president Neal Harrington said: “BSBC is more than just a sports club – it’s a social hub for the Bishop’s Stortford community.
“We host a variety of events throughout the year, both sporting and social, and offer an active winter programme to keep members connected.
“We welcome the opportunity to discuss tailored sponsorship packages that can provide maximum impact and visibility. It’s the chance to partner with BSBC and become part of a valued tradition while expanding reach within the community.”
