Bishop's Stortford have been placed in Vitality Women's England Hockey League Conference East for the 2022-23 campaign.

The team won the East Women's League, Premier Division in March to secure their place in the national leagues for the first time in the club's 74-year history.

They will face Ipswich, Chelmsford, Hampstead & Westminster II, Spencer, East London, Southgate, London Wayfarers, Guildford and Horsham next term.

Despite being further north than St Albans, Stortford will not face their Hertfordshire rivals as they compete in Conference Midlands.

"As ever with the allocations there are a number of factors to be considered. Travel times as well as geography is taken into account and divisions' titles will not always include teams perceived to be from the named region," said England Hockey.

"The geographic spread of teams means that, on occasion, clubs that are close to each other may not play in the same division."
