Bishop's Stortford are looking for extra - and urgent - help as they aim to grow their successful girls' section.

The club has worked extremely hard over the last four years to get girls' rugby up and running.

Now they require additional people to provide general support and assistance as well as coaches.

The under-11 girls are now in the minis with their peers and there are currently three age groups for girls, with each needing a number of general helpers to assist with admin, arranging fixtures and social events.

Commitment would need to be for an average of two hours per week during the season, but more if you had the time and inclination.

As the number of girls playing have increased, so the pressure for more coaches at each age group has also grown. Coaching sessions currently take place on Tuesdays evenings between 6pm and 7.15pm, but they could be moved from next season to Sunday mornings so that boys and girls train on the same day.

Ideally the club is looking for qualified coaches or people with some previous coaching experience.

However, if you have no previous experience but would like to give it a try, you will be placed alongside experienced coaches as an assistant. As well as learning as you go along, the club will help you get qualified if you are interested.

Carly Poyser, chair of the girls' and ladies' section at Silver Leys, said: "The emphasis in the section is upon having fun, learning new skills and developing the next generation of players who can then aspire to join our ladies' section.

"If you think you can make a contribution of some sort to girls' rugby, I would love to hear from you."
