Stansted and Bishop's Stortford Wanderers net cup successes

Stansted can still dare to dream of securing a treble after they lifted the Gordon Brasted Memorial Trophy on Monday.

Billy Coyne’s goal earned them a 1-0 win over St Margaretsbury at Burnham Ramblers.

The Airportmen now turn their attention to the final day of the Essex Senior League, Premier Division campaign this Saturday when they have to win at Leyton Athletic and hope leaders Hullbridge Sports slip up at home to Stanway Rovers.

Stansted then face West Essex in the Errington Challenge Cup final on Monday, May 6 at Bishop’s Stortford’s ProKit UK Stadium.

Meanwhile, Tom Hollamby netted a hat-trick as Bishop’s Stortford Wanderers beat Newport 4-2 in the Charity Salver Cup final.

Joe Johnson also scored from the spot in front of a 247-strong crowd at the ProKit UK Stadium as Wanderers made it two trophies in as many years.
