Murray Davidson stars as Bishop's Stortford beat Berkhamsted to win Hertfordshire under-17s T20 final

Murray Davidson struck his sixth half-century of an excellent season as Bishop's Stortford under-17s beat Berkhamsted to win the Hertfordshire T20 final.

He smashed 70 off just 43 deliveries as his side triumphed by seven wickets at Welwyn Garden City.

Davidson, who ended the campaign with 608 runs at an average of 32, was later presented with the club's junior player of the year award for the second time.

Berkhamsted batted first and, after Sam Robinson took an early wicket, they posted a strong score of 156-6 despite losing regular wickets. Keiran Surujbally, Freddie Chapman, Aidan Murphy and Liam Mays were the other wicket takers.

Stortford's reply was dominated by opener Davidson, with his half-century including seven fours and four sixes.

After he was out, Benji Furrer (52 not out) and Murphy (15 not out) got Stortford to 157-3 with 1.2 overs left.
