Bishop’s Stortford Golf Club member Rebecca Earl comes 12th on professional debut in LET Access Tour event in Spain

Rebecca Earl secured a 12th-place finish on her professional debut in Spain.

The Bishop’s Stortford Golf Club member made an impressive first appearance on the LET Access Tour at Real Club de Golf La Penaza in Zaragoza.

Earl, who was runner-up in the English Women’s Amateur Championship after losing a thrilling final in August, finished ahead of a host of regular tour pros having been invited to take part.

She produced a round of 70 sandwiched between two level-par scores of 72 to finish with a two-under total of 214, seven shots behind winner Elena Moosman, from Switzerland.

Earl, who had mum Julia alongside her as caddy, said: “I am very proud to finish where I did and enjoyed the whole event.

“I can take so much away from my time here, which I am sure will benefit me in the future.”

Earl this summer completed five years of studying in America - four years at Wofford College in South Carolina and a year at Houston University. She is now gearing up for the Ladies’ European Qualifying Series in Morocco in December.
