Felsted School under-13s win Northampton Saints Rugby 7s Series at Franklin’s Gardens

Felsted School’s under-13 boys triumphed at a Premiership ground to lift a national trophy.

The side got the better of Royal Latin School in the final as they were crowned champions of the Northampton Saints Rugby 7s Series.

Felsted showed bags of character to recover from conceding early on in the final against their Buckingham-based opponents to win 3-1 at Franklin’s Gardens.

They had earlier progressed from the pool stage before winning their two games in the cup finals stage to reach the national showdown.

The boys also got to meet Old Felstedian and Saints player Craig Wright, who came to offer words of inspiration between games.

“The victory would not have been possible without a whole-squad effort throughout the day,” said Hector Bevitt-Smith, Felsted Prep School’s director of co-curricular sports and activities.

“As always, the team played with graciousness and determination and represented the school brilliantly.”
