Bishop's Stortford Community Football Club Ladies go second in the table with win over Sherrardswood Ladies

Bishop's Stortford Community Football Club (BSCFC) Ladies are second in the table after putting the previous week's poor result and performance behind them to beat a strong Sherrardswood Ladies side 4-1.

An Ella Fobbester brace saw Stortford lead 2-0 at half time. Alice Scott and Grace Arnell eased worries with two outstanding strikes to take them 4-0 up.

A questionable handball decision against Annabelle Gilham resulted in the referee pointing to the spot and Alice Gor was unlucky not to save the penalty kick, getting a foot to it.

There were a few nervous moments but Stortford closed out the game comfortably.

The result leaves Stortford second in the Bedfordshire and Hertfordshire Women’s Football mini league, by one point, but with a game in hand.

Among the boys, the BSCFC Under-15 Eastern Junior Alliance (EJA) side launched their league title challenge with a comprehensive 6-1 win over Saffron Walden U15 EJA.

Luke Ellis scored twice and there were also goals from Harry Gatt, George Collins, George Lane and Shaye Willatt.

BSCFC have upcoming games against Chelmsford, Hutton and Cambridge City.
