George Wright begins spell as Bishop's Stortford Golf Club's new junior captain with ceremonial drive-in

George Wright finally began his spell as Bishop's Stortford Golf Club's junior captain at his ceremonial drive-in.

He put a three-month delay due to the pandemic firmly behind him as he belted the ball 260 yards down the fairway at the Dunmow Road club.

Wright, who is studying for A-levels in maths, economics and psychology at Leventhorpe School in Sawbridgeworth, has taken over the reins from Jude Duggan.

The winner's closest rival was Sophia Allan, also 12, with a net 69 while third place went to 11-year-old Gladys Chimedza with a net 70.
