Lizzie Bellinger and Sally Winter won a combined seven gold and one silver medals and broke records at the Swim England National Masters Swimming Championships.

Herts and Essex High School PE teacher Bellinger and her fellow Bishop's Stortford Swimming Club member Winter stormed to five and three medals respectively in Sheffield.

There were first-place finishes for Bellinger in the 50m and 100m butterfly before she triumphed in the 100m backstroke with a new East region record of 1min 13.70sec.

And the success continued as she struck gold in the 200m individual medley before snatching silver in the 100m IM.

The evergreen Winter completed a golden freestyle hat-trick by winning the 100m, 200m and 400m events. Her time of 5.19.37 in the latter ensured she smashed the East region record by 30 seconds.

Stortford swimmer Callum Davis also took part and showed huge promise in the butterfly and freestyle events to come away with several top-10 finishes.

He recorded a personal best of 24.8sec in the 50m free, where he was up against several top swimmers from the National Performance Centre in Loughborough.

Davis' other highlights were finishing seventh in both the 50m butterfly (25.83) and 100m fly (58.66).
