Seb Smith hit a hat-trick as Real Stortford under-17 Falcons triumphed 5-1 over Ware Lions Blacks in the Mid-Herts Rural Minors League Shield.

Jeffrey Clarke and TJ Popo combined to set up Aaron Spencer for the opening goal before Ware, who had knocked out Real under-18 Saracens in the previous round, got an equaliser.

Smith restored the advantage before the break from Tom Gleason’s pass and man-of-the-match Isaac Pasetto’s 25-yard strike extended the lead.

Smith got his second of the game thanks to good work from Daniel Alaezi before completing his treble with a shot from the edge of the box which took a deflection off a defender.

Falcons’ next opponents in the cup will be Welwyn Garden City Tornadoes, who were on the end of a 4-1 defeat to under-18 Saracens at the weekend.

Finn Aylott notched twice for Saracens, who could seal the Division Five title by the end of the month, and there was a goal apiece for Sam Booker and Josh Chinn.

Man-of-the-match Mackenzie Lewin claimed two goals and an assist as under-16 Bulls registered a fine 5-1 away win over Division Three leaders Parsloe Athletic.

Charlie Baker’s half-volley from Sam Ranford’s defence-splitting pass put them ahead before the hosts equalised moments after Gavin Gardiner had produced a fantastic penalty save.

Lewin slotted in to restore the Bulls’ lead after Baker had gone on a mazy run, and Jola Olawoyin hammered home from close range before the break.

Their fourth goal was volleyed in from 15 yards by Lewin and his corner was converted by Charlie Sloan at the near post to complete the scoring.

There were fantastic displays from defenders Cameron Scott, Jake Foster, Tom Brierly and Harry Pettipher while Lesharn McManus-O’Connell played well in midfield on his birthday.

Sid Clark and Trey Jarvis scored as giant-killing Bishop's Stortford Community Football Club under-16 Saints won 2-1 at Letchworth Garden City Eagles Whites in the Mid-Herts Rural Minors League Cup.

The unbeaten Division Two leaders took the lead against their Premier Division hosts when the goalkeeper could only parry Clark's looping shot into the net.

Saints doubled their advantage soon as Jarvis prodded the ball into the corner from Zen Rapley's set piece.

Letchworth pulled one back after the break and it was end-to-end stuff in the closing stages, with Alfie Smith unlucky to have a third Saints goal ruled out for offside.

Benjamin Stevens was named man of the match for marshalling the defence.

Ross Shinnick and Josh Smith both bagged braces as under-15 Wanderers beat Stotfold 7-1 in Royston Crow League, Division Three.

Mikey Stables, Lewis Richards and James Borman got a goal each while man-of-the-match Toby Barnes got four second-half assists.

Remi Hasty struck to earn the under-13 girls a 1-0 win over Division Two leaders Harefield in the latest round of Hertfordshire Girls Football Partnership League Cup group games.

She scored with a powerful effort following good work by Kiera Hider and Poppy Dwyer.

Stortford defended well as Phoebe Edmondson, Indigo Lee and player-of-the-match Aimee Cole all played well.
