Bishop's Stortford Community Football Club beat Stevenage Borough Falcons
Bryn Henriques' two goals earned him the man-of-the-match prize as he guided Bishop's Stortford Community Football Club under-16 Rovers to a 5-2 home win over Stevenage Borough Falcons.
The opening goal in the Mid-Herts Rural Minors League, Division One contest came when Luke Hale's powerful header found Adam Blair-Park and his inch-perfect cross was nodded in by Henriques.
Blair-Park then claimed two more assists as his corner was scrambled home by Ethan Wildman and another set-piece delivery was converted by Will Hall.
Falcons had their moments and pulled one back before the break after Nathan Luckin had earlier produced a smart save low down to his right.
Blair-Park finally got the goal he deserved when he found the top corner from distance, and the points were wrapped up when Henriques collected Hall's excellent long-range pass before chipping the advancing goalkeeper. Falcons got a late consolation.
Being without their captain and goalkeeper did not hamper under-16 Town as they won 6-0 at lower-league opponents Wormley in the Inter-Divisional Cup.
Matt Askey's brace was added to by George Hewitt, Juan Perinat, Fabio Ferreira and Will Locket.
Under-18 Athletic's best display of the season helped them beat Arlesey Town 4-0 in Royston Crow League, Division One.
It was 2-0 at half time as Will Roads curled in a beauty and captain Brad Hodder bundled in from a corner.
Athletic, who threw away a three-goal lead when the sides last met, could have had double figures but settled for two more goals from Archie Cockran and Emmanuel Mbuthia.
The under-18 girls overcame a poor start to triumph 6-1 at St Albans in the Hertfordshire Girls Football Partnership League.
They fell behind early on and would have conceded again had the hosts not missed a penalty.
Stortford then came to life and levelled when Abbie Dossetter's pass split the defence and Claudia Allport-Diaz fired into the bottom corner.
Allport-Diaz squared for Grace Arnell to put them 2-1 up before the former netted again with another fine run and finish.
The fourth goal came when Emily Watkins' corner was flicked on by Alena Fisher and finished by Abby Taylor.
Arnell outmuscled an opponent to get her second of the contest before Alice Scott got the goal of the game with a cracking strike after a blistering run.
Jake Doree and Luke Ricketts were on target as under-14 Athletic won their toughest Royston Crow Division One game of the season 2-1 at pacesetters St Neots Town.
Mike Payne scored twice as under-12 Athletic came from behind to triumph 3-1 at Stevenage Borough Whites in MHRML Division Seven.
His efforts, which included his second penalty in as many weeks, were added to by Evan Lee as he showed great technique to notch from 20 yards.
And Hadley Connolly's last-minute equaliser salvaged a 1-1 draw for Division Two leaders under-12 United against Potters Bar United.
