Coach Greg Sambridge really got into the festive spirit as Thorley Manor hosted some Christmas-themed training sessions, writes Daniel Williamson.

The club founder dressed up as an elf being carried by Santa, which got some giggles from the young footballers!

Many of the club's games were postponed at the weekend because of the current Covid situation.

One match actually did go ahead as the under-eights produced a superb performance.

They put in some great tackles and showed excellent dribbling as they continued their development as footballers.

Bishop's Stortford Community Football Club under-15 Rangers secured a narrow 4-3 win over Saffron Walden in Royston Crow League, Division Two.

Rangers ended up being on the wrong end of a 3-0 deficit after 25 minutes, however incredible team spirit was shown to come back and take the points.

Austin Hawkes grabbed a brace whilst Kade Smith and Finley Tritton all got their names on the score sheet as well.

It was a great team performance to round off 2021 and keep them third in the league heading into the Christmas break.

Ed Warren scored as under-12 Rangers beat Enfield 1-0 at home in the Mid-Herts Rural Minors League Cup.

The tight but entertaining game looked set to go to a penalty shootout before Warren scored an impressive goal deep into added time to break the deadlock.

The goal sends Rangers into the quarter-finals of the competition, where they will play AFC Walkern.
