Izzy Brown scores her first Bishop’s Stortford try to earn 15-12 win at Tabard in Women’s NC 3 Midlands (South)

Izzy Brown scored her first Bishop’s Stortford try to earn them a 15-12 win at Tabard in Women’s NC 3 Midlands (South) on Sunday (January 28).

The visitors got revenge for losing the reverse fixture and are six points clear at the top of the table, although they have played three games more than nearest rivals Cambridge.

The home side went ahead with an unconverted try, but Stortford drew level when hooker Eva Radukic smashed through the Tabard line allowing full-back Morgane Geary-Warne to fly away and score in the corner.

Tabard claimed a converted try to go into the break 12-5 ahead before the away team reduced the deficit as scrum-half Chloe Capp dotted down following a sneaky pick-and-go from No 8 Yasmin Knott.

And they completed the turnaround when Brown opened her Stortford account after good work by Geary-Warne and second row Charlotte Wheeler.

Geary-Warne was the players’ player of the match while Elise Sauvary was the coaches’ pick.
