Takeley fighter John Hedges wants to put on a show for Sky Sports and DAZN viewers when he takes on Stanko Jermelic on the undercard of Conor Benn versus Samuel Vargas bout

John Hedges wants to put on a show for everyone watching at home when he takes on Stanko Jermelic in his second professional fight on Saturday (April 10).

The 6ft 5in southpaw, from Takeley, is going up against the Croatian in a four-round light-heavyweight contest on the undercard of the Conor Benn versus Samuel Vargas WBA continental welterweight title bout at the SSE Arena, Wembley, live on Sky Sports and DAZN.

Hedges, who turns 19 on Sunday, secured a hard-fought points victory over Manchester-based Czech Jan Ardon on his professional debut in October.

"Training's been going well and I'm tapering down now ready for fight night," said Hedges, who went to Forest Hall School in Stansted.

"I'm looking forward to putting on an explosive performance for everyone watching at home."

Hedges recently switched from Hoddesdon Boxing Academy to Mark Tibbs' coaching stable, which means he gets to learn from undisputed WBO world super-middleweight champion Billy Joe Saunders.
