Bishop's Stortford Jukokwai members win medals galore in the Don Werner Memorial Cup in High Wycombe
Bishop's Stortford Judokwai members bagged a magnificent 16 medals as they came second in the Don Werner Memorial Cup.
The NHC Area Split Grades Tournament was held in High Wycombe and Stortford finished behind champions Pinewood.
It was a very tough competition, but the players achieved seven gold medals, three silver and six bronze along with a fifth-place finish in the under-16 events.
In the red and yellow belts, Hannah King, Zico Manchee and Michael Viknius struck gold while Teddy Tancock and Thomas White took bronze. Elias Agathangelou came fifth.
In the orange and green belts, gold medals were secured by Lenny Tancock, Bobby King and Yousuf Evloev, silvers went to Alfie Mitchell and Mahdi Huseinov and there were bronze medals for Benjamin Nunn, Queenie Tancock and Samuel Trevains.
The other medallists, in the blue and brown belts, were Jamie King (gold), Iosin Huseinov (silver) and Lenny Pink (bronze).
Fighters from the club also travelled to Thetford in Norfolk for the Eastern Area Open and brought home six medals.
Benjamin Nunn was a gold medallist in the minors (under-13s) and silver was secured by Jessica Nunn.
In the pre-cadets and cadets (under-18s), Alfie Mitchell netted gold and Sam Eaton snared silver.
And there was a gold and a bronze medal for Chloe Nunn and Paul Farrant respectively in the seniors (over-14s).
