Dame Bradbury’s Junior School under-11 girls finish second at annual Independent Association of Prep Schools Cricket Festival

An under-11 girls’ team were delighted to finish second at the annual IAPS (Independent Association of Prep Schools) Cricket Festival.

The side from Saffron Walden’s Dame Bradbury’s Junior School showcased their skills at the event hosted by Haileybury in Hertford.

They took on teams from Hertfordshire, Essex, Hampshire and Buckinghamshire and, having started net training during the spring term, their hard work paid off as they took the runners-up spot.

“The girls gave an exceptional performance, achieving an excellent second-place finish against very strong opponents,” said head of sport Sam Godfrey.

“We are incredibly proud of not only their performance at the festival, but also their remarkable progress as cricketers.

“Their hard work and determination have led to significant improvement. We look forward to continuing to support the team in developing their cricketing skills.”
