Bishop’s Stortford Hockey Club’s Charlie Leonard and Pippa Bull representing England at Masters Hockey World Cup in New Zealand
Two Bishop’s Stortford Hockey Club members are jetting out to New Zealand to represent England at the Masters World Cup.
Charlie Leonard and Pippa Bull will feature for the over-45s and over-60s respectively at the tournament in Auckland.
They will both be hoping for more success after bagging medals at the event two years ago in South Africa. Bull struck gold while Leonard took silver in Cape Town.
Bull and her over-60s colleagues will get their campaign under way on November 7 against Australia IMC (International Masters Cup) before taking on the USA, South Africa and New Zealand.
Leonard’s team start against Australia on November 8 and then face Germany and Alliance IMC.
Stortford’s masters section is going from strength to strength, with their women’s over-35s team thrashing Crostyx 14-0 in the first round of the England Hockey Masters Championship at the weekend.
A club spokesperson congratulated Leonard and Bull on their call-ups and said: “The club, their teammates, friends and family will be cheering them on as they represent their country on the international stage.”
