Seven Bishop’s Stortford Swimming Club members earn Top Swimmer awards for outstanding performances at Hertfordshire County Championships
Seven Bishop’s Stortford Swimming Club members have claimed prizes for their outstanding performances at the Hertfordshire County Championships.
They were presented with their Top Swimmer awards by Jane O’Brien, the president of Swim England Hertfordshire, after excelling across a range of events.
Molly Greatbatch was the top female swimmer in the county in the 14-years age group while her sister Ella Greatbatch (16 years) and Dylan Davenport (15 years) were second in their age categories.
Noah Conroy, who was Stortford’s youngest award winner, was third in the 12-years age group while Elliot Hall (14 years), Brandon MacDonald-Williams (16 years) and club captain Jakey Hayes (17/Over) were all fourth in their age groups.
To be eligible for the award, swimmers had to compete and earn points in events in five different categories, showing prowess across all distances - 50m, 100m, 200m and 400m-plus - and all strokes.
The total points were added up and awards given to the top eight in each age and gender group.
A BSSC spokesperson said: “This is a fantastic achievement by all swimmers and we look forward to seeing what else they can achieve during the rest of this season.”
