Farnham beat Matching Green to win 2024 Boardmans Davies Cup final




Farnham got home with nine balls to spare as they beat Matching Green to win the Boardmans Davies Cup final on Sunday (August 11).

Matching Green batted first in the T20 contest at Bishop’s Stortford’s Cricketfield Lane and posted 160-5.

Ollie Hartnell (46), Jason Green (42no) and Riz Akram (34) were the pick of the batsmen while L MacDonald and O Stigwood got two wickets apiece.

Farnham then successfully reached 161-5 in the run chase to claim the silverware, with Tom Radley making 52.

Other vital contributions were made by Tom Cattell (39) and Austin Sewell (33no) while Akram snared 3-27.

Mo Clarke, the wife of the late Stortford sports scene legend Squin Clarke, presented the medals and the trophy as well as handing Tom Radley the Squin Clarke Man of the Match Award.
