Nick Mamouzellos struck gold and Robyn Bond win medals at Taekwon-do Association of Great Britain Midlands Championships in Kettering
Nick Mamouzellos struck gold and Robyn Bond took bronze despite a broken toe at the Taekwon-do Association of Great Britain Midlands Championships.
They were two of eight Bishop’s Stortford Taekwon-do students who competed at the event at The Sports Arena in Kettering.
Mamouzellos, 35, added to the gold medal he won at last year’s British Championships by coming first in men’s heavyweight yellow belt sparring.
And bronze medallist Bond, 49, battled through the pain to also make it onto the podium in the ladies’ middleweight sparring division.
Also in action for Stortford were Ola Zheng (aged eight), Cian Casey-Bond (10), Saoirse Casey-Bond (12), Lola Zheng (14) Isaac Horwood (15) and 53-year-old Robert Anderson while Jo Anderson did official duties.
“All those competing did the club proud and have lots to look forward to in 2025, including the English, British and World Championships,” said instructor Colin Mowatt, fifth dan.
The club trains at Parsonage Community Hall on Mondays, Wednesdays and Saturdays and is currently offering free trial classes and family deals. See www.bstkd.uk to find out more.
