Youth football: Thorley Manor round-up

Goalkeeper Will Molyneux produced a man-of-the-match performance as Thorley Manor under-11 Black beat Bishop's Stortford Swifts 2-1.

He excelled between the sticks in a team display full of grit and determination as strikes from Toby Doble and Patrick Newman secured the victory.

There were also some great saves by goalkeeper Callum when the under-11s drew 2-2 with Royston Town.

All of the goals came in the first period, with Cameron and Charlie on target for the hosts.

The under-12s saw a draw slip away in the last five minutes against Bury Rangers as a late double condemned them to a 2-0 defeat.

Some great passing and movement ensured under-10 White claimed a well-deserved win over Letchworth Garden City Eagles Blue.

Under-10 Black had to call upon some super stand-ins due to a shortage of players and they gained valuable experience in a tough encounter with Broadhall Youth.

Louis and Archie were both hat-trick heroes and Sam provided half-a-dozen assists as the under-9s got the better of Buntingford Cougars.

Charlie bagged his first goal courtesy of a penalty while goalkeeper Aron and defenders Alfie and Jayden excelled.

And a bumper under-7s squad – they had 10 players for a five-a-side contest – enjoyed themselves when they took on Hitchin Town and have a bright future.
