Bishop's Stortford have announced seven pre-season friendlies - and fans can watch the home fixtures for free if they buy a season ticket before July 1.

The Blues will travel to Takeley on Saturday July 16 before hosting Vanarama National League Dagenham & Redbridge on Tuesday July 19.

Steve Smith's men head to Brentwood Town, who are managed by former Stortford boss Rod Stringer, on Friday July 22 and then have back-to-back home encounters with Grays Athletic and Peterborough Sports on Tuesday July 26 and Saturday July 30 respectively.

The Blues will also visit Waltham Abbey on Tuesday August 2 and Heybridge Swifts on Saturday August 6 before the new Pitching In Isthmian League, Premier Division season gets under way the following weekend.

The club have frozen the prices of season tickets for the 2022-23 campaign. They cost £210 for adults, £130 for concessions and £70 for students, offering savings of up to £42 on the gate price.

And purchasing one before July 1 will secure free entry to the home friendlies. Email generalmanager@bsfc.co.uk to get yours.

Meanwhile, the Blues have signed former Concord Rangers and Haringey Borough player Tosin Olufemi.

The 28-year-old, who was with Colchester United as a youngster, was league rivals Haringey's top scorer last season and can operate at right-back and on the wing.

But Ben Marlow looks set to face a lengthy spell on the sidelines due to a knee problem. The midfielder missed the start of the 2021-22 season following an operation on a torn meniscus and manager Steve Smith said some complications have surfaced.

"Ben will need to see a specialist for a review. He'll likely be out of action for some time," said Smith, who has also re-signed Darren Foxley. "Ben and the club are still fully committed to one another and hopefully we will see him back on the pitch very soon."

Marlow, whose long-range injury-time winner at Lewes in March earned him the club's Goal of the Season award, as voted for by the fans, said: "I'll get myself sorted and be back better than ever. "In the meantime I am looking forward to watching the team push for promotion and will hopefully be back in time for the run in next year. Allez les Bleus!"

And the club have announced Mark Warwick has stepped down from the board of directors in order to focus on helping Bishop's Stortford Community Football Club continue to grow.
