Bishop’s Stortford Netball Club agrees sponsorship deal with Gardenrama
Bishop’s Stortford Netball Club is looking forward to continued growth after securing a new sponsorship deal with a grounds maintenance company.
The club, which was founded in 1979, has developed rapidly and now has six winter teams across a range of leagues and divisions.
And landing Gardenrama as title sponsor has enabled investment in new kit and training resources.
Two Stortford teams were promoted earlier this year while another two narrowly missed out on going up.
Club members range from players fresh out of school through to those with bags of experience.
Some of the founding members are also still actively involved, including Brenda Pegg, the honorary president who was recently awarded the East Region Long Service Award.
On the court this season, the first team bounced back from a 44-32 loss to Crosskeys with 56-39 and 53-40 successes against Turnford VI and Harpenden in the Herts County League.
In the Bishop’s Stortford and District League, the second team recorded a 54-40 victory over Swan V after defeats to Infinity Reds (35-26) and Sparks III (31-28).
There have been three wins for the third team over Saffron Walden III (32-28), Swan VI (41-25) and Wodson V (34-32).
In the Harlow League, the first team lost 42-31 to Crosskeys, drew 25-25 with Crosskeys II and then claimed a fine 34-25 victory over Omega.
The second team got the better of St Mary’s 30-24 before showing resilience in a 27-19 loss at the hands of Tegate II.
And the third team showed great energy and focus to overcome Infinity 26-13.
