By Michael Vaughton

Xaniel Doku struck the decisive blow as a young Bishop's Stortford Swifts side beat Buckhurst Hill 1-0 to lift the Essex Intermediate League Senior Challenge Cup.

It was the first piece of silverware for new manager Stuart Hoskins, who named five teenagers in his squad due to injuries and holidays, as they overcame the Essex Premier Cup holders and reigning Premier Division champions.

In an even first half, Swifts broke the deadlock in the 25th minute through Doku.

They were forced to defend for long spells in the second period and 18-year-old Reece Still was on fine form at the back.

Swifts kept their clean sheet intact as captain Charlie Pollard lifted the trophy.
