David Brand, Janet O'Brien and Callum Gardiner take up captain roles at Bishop's Stortford Golf Club

Bishop's Stortford Golf Club's new club, lady and junior captains began their terms of office with ceremonial drive-ins.

Lady captain Janet O'Brien, who has taken over the reins from Sandy Rowsell, started things off with a respectable drive of 138 yards.

Club captain David Brand hit the ball 146 yards, 1ft and junior skipper Callum Gardiner struck his 237 yards as they marked replacing Graham Ansbridge and George Wright respectively.

The men's and ladies' sections have agreed on the same charity of the year for the first time and all proceeds will go to the Holy Trinity outreach and night shelter in Stortford.
