Adam Peaty’s coach Mel Marshall hosts residential swimming camp at Bishop’s Stortford College

Superstar swimmer Adam Peaty’s coach and three members of Team GB inspired more than 70 budding athletes at a residential camp.

MM Swim Inspiration Elite founder Mel Marshall MBE was joined by Abbie Wood, Alex Cohoon and Medi Harris - all fresh from competing at the Paris Olympics - for the five-day course at Bishop’s Stortford College.

And they gave 72 youngsters, aged nine to 16, the opportunity to experience what life is like at the elite level.

The week included workshops on prehabilitation, mobility and injury prevention, nutrition, psychology, strength and conditioning as well as in-pool training and talks from the Olympians.

Coach Marshall, who is a double Olympian and six-time Commonwealth Games medallist as well as coaching Peaty to six Olympic medals, said: “What a venue, what a team, what a vibe!

“It was amazing to finally see MM Swim Inspiration Elite come to life here at Bishop’s Stortford College.
