Bishop’s Stortford beat Arsenal under-21s 3-1 in front of a crowd of almost 1,300 at the RDA Stadium last night (Wednesday July 31).
Steve Castle’s men got the better of the youngsters from the Premier League’s academy in what was the Blues’ penultimate pre-season friendly.
The hosts broke the deadlock midway through the first half when Charlie Castle tapped home from inside the six-yard box.
Stortford doubled their advantage 10 minutes after the restart when Ryan Charles found the bottom corner from the edge of the box.
Callum Leggett got the Blues’ third goal with a close-range finish 10 minutes from time before Harrison Dudziak claimed a late consolation for the young Gunners.
The attendance was 1,267.
Stortford have confirmed that goalkeeper Jayden Peglar, defensive pair Mason Cook and Luke Warner-Eley and midfielder Sami Moutawafiq have agreed terms for the coming season.
The Blues visit Hampton & Richmond Borough in their final friendly on Saturday (August 3) before starting their Pitching In Southern League, Premier Central campaign at home to Alvechurch on Saturday August 10.
