Richard Whittington Primary School win Bishop’s Stortford Sports Partnership Quickstix Hockey Competition




Richard Whittington were crowned Bishop’s Stortford Sports Partnership Quickstix Hockey Competition champions.

The team from the Thornbera Gardens primary got the better of Summercroft 1-0 in a thrilling final.

The event, hosted by Birchwood High School and sponsored by Bishop’s Stortford Hockey Club, featured 27 sides from 13 schools.

Taking part alongside the finalists were Furneux Pelham, Hillmead, High Wych, Mandeville, Manor Fields, St Andrews, Windhill21, St Michael’s, Albury, St Joseph’s and Thorn Grove.

A student leadership team from Birchwood were instrumental in the smooth running of the competition and they were thrilled with the incredible atmosphere generated by all the players.

The winners’ medals were presented by Stortford hockey club representative Tony Robarts.
