Bishop's Stortford CFC under-18 Rovers beat clubmates to clinch Mid-Herts Rural Minors League U18 Div Two title

Bishop's Stortford Community Football Club under-18 Rovers beat clubmates under-17 Athletic 4-1 to clinch the Mid-Herts Rural Minors League, Under-18 Division Two title with five games to spare.

Having only 10 players due to injuries could not prevent them from being crowned champions as Billy Martin, man-of-the-match Jack Baros, Ethan Wildman and Bryn Henriques found the net.

Freddy Hayden-Hammett scored a hat-trick as under-13 Rovers enjoyed an emphatic 7-0 win over Stotfold Black in Royston Crow League, Division Four.

Guy Derrington added a brace while Casey Grant and Daniel Bulman were also on target in the win that keeps Rovers third.

Under-16 Saints saw their dreams of a league and cup double slip away with a 1-0 defeat at Enfield in the MHRML Division Two Cup semi-finals.

The newly-crowned league champions went close through Zen Rapley before falling behind early in the second half.

Saints were awarded a penalty but, with their regular spot-kick takers having a rest on the bench, Ben Seary saw his effort go agonisingly over having bravely taken responsibility.

Defender Jake Painter was named man of the match.
