Real Stortford under-17 Saracens still top of the Mid-Herts Rural Minors League, Under-18 Division Four table
Real Stortford under-17 Saracens maintained their relentless pace at the Mid-Herts Rural Minors League, Under-18 Division Four summit with a 4-0 win away at Welwyn Garden City Cyclones.
The visitors led at the break thanks to an own goal and wrapped up the points in the second half with a brace from Josh Chinn – including a penalty – and one from Ewan Winship.
James Baird was man of the match. Yet another clean sheet means Saracens have conceded only four goals this season – a better defensive record than any of the 60 other teams in their age group.
Under-16 Falcons were made to pay for a terrible first 10 minutes as they lost 3-2 to Wodson Park in Division Three.
Two of the three goals shipped in the period were from the penalty spot and they could not recover from the damage.
But despite having players out and limited options, they did muster something of a comeback to score a couple of goals through Daniel Alaezi and Louis Day.
